Allie Bernhard

Work

Allie is currently receiving her Master’s in Industrial Design at Pratt Institute.

She grew up with an appreciation for art, design, jewelry, antiques, Greek mythology, nature, engineering, and science-- interests that ultimately guided her toward industrial design (ID). For her, ID is a perfect blend of these early interests, uniting creativity with functionality.

Alongside these interests, she also had a natural talent for hands-on work because of her high attention to detail. As a child, she was often called upon by friends and family to untangle necklaces or fix broken items, always restoring them to good as new.

Now, as a professional that’s transitioned out of management consulting to pursue her true interests and strengths, she’s found her place in industrial design. This field allows her to combine user research, data analysis, and design to create improved physical products and user experiences.

Her work currently focuses on her love for jewelry, but she is also passionate about softgoods, biomaterial innovation, and creating adaptable accessories and designs for individuals with physical limitations.
